This month the THI public realm improvement scheme will start. The year-long £1.467m project represents a significant investment in the physical appearance and appeal of the town centre as a shopping and tourism destination. The scheme works include the repair and restoration of Falkirk’s historic pends and closes, resurfacing of some streets and footpaths and lighting improvements.
MacLay Civil Engineering Ltd has been appointed to deliver the ambitious public realm works. During the project, the contractor will endeavour to keep disturbance to a minimum, but some disruption to normal town centre activity is unavoidable in a project of this scale and complexity.
In the meantime, there will be a public display of the proposals in the Howgate Shopping Centre between 8th and 12th May 2017 providing the public with an opportunity to view the proposals and speak to Falkirk Council Officers who will be present on Friday 12th May (11am-2pm).
