This year we teamed up with the Stirling Chapter of RIAS to support their plans for this year’s Festival of Architecture. Ryan Marshall of Arka Architects in Falkirk and President of the Stirling Chapter contacted us about an engagement opportunity working with a local architect and students to create an installation in the High Street.
The final piece of ‘street furniture’ has been created by Arka Architects with architecture students from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. It looks great and although it will soon be stored elsewhere we hope everyone who has seen the installation will take part in other Festival activities taking place across Scotland.
As Ryan said in a recent interview with the Falkirk Herald, “hopefully the cubes have stimulated conversation and debate whether that be about how they look, where they are or how they are seen” (Falkirk Herald, 30/06/2016, p.22).
We will be holding a number of events linked to the Festival across Doors Open Day weekend on 17th and 18th September. Keep checking our Facebook page for more details.
