We offer free heritage walks to schools and other groups around Falkirk town centre. These are delivered by our volunteer tour guides or the THI the Heritage Engagement Officer. Working with the class teacher the walk can be developed individually for each school and class based on areas of interest and the desired curriculum experiences and outcomes. Key elements that can be included are:
- The Steeple
- Road Names and their meanings
- Old Falkirk Parish Church
- Changes in town centre use
During the walk, pupils will have the opportunity to look at old photos, so they can visualise how things have changed. Following the walk teachers will receive copies of some historic photos for use in the classroom.
If you are interested in organising a walk for your class or school or want more information please contact Julia Branch.
